MITCHELL, Gray

Services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1974, for Gray Mitchell, 43, a Newtown native who had been chief of communications officer of the Indiana State Police Post at Pendleton more than 20 years. Mr. Mitchell died of an apparent heart attack whlie traveling with his wife from home in Pendleton to Anderson. He was the son of Roy and Leona Gray Mitchell and a graduate of Richland Township High School. He was also a graduate of an Indianapolis vocational school and a veteran of the navy. He was married to Marilyn Mitchell formerly of Frankfort. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Debra, Donna and Darla, all at home; his mother; a brother, Roy Martin Mitchell of Orland Park, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. William (Ann) McCord of Attica. An infant daughter is deceased.  – jlr
