Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

James K. Mitchell, age 75, of West Lebanon, died at 2:30 a. m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Lakeview Memorial Hospital, Danville. He bad been a patient one day following six years of failing health. Born Dec. 14, 1886, near State Line, he was the son of Henry Clay and Matilda Allison Mitchell. He was a retired building contractor and had resided in Warren County most of his life. He was a member of the Warren American Legion Post 259 at Williamsport. Survivors include three nephews, Talbot Cunningham of West Lebanon Rt., Earl Cunningham of Lafayette, and Charles Cunningham of Chicago. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Cope, in 1958. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Machledt Funeral Home, West Lebanon. The Rev. William Muir officiated. Burial was in the West Lebanon Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
