COVINGTON — Margie Mitchell, 80,
Covington, died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 in The Waters of Covington,
having been seriously ill for seven months. She was born Aug. 7, 1925 in Pekin,
Ill., the daughter of Peter Merle and Mary Jane (Schartiger) Roland. She
married Russell Lee Mitchell Aug. 16, 1942 in Oak Forest, Ill. He preceded in
death April 3, 2005. She was a farm wife. She moved to Covington in 1993 from a
farm in the Pine Village area. She was a member of the Covington United
Methodist Church and choir, Troy Home Demonstration Club, and the Cates
Missionary Society. Survivors include: two sons, Roger (Anna) Mitchell,
Monticello and Richard (Sandee) Mitchell, Attica; a sister, Linda (Michael) Heniff,
Florida; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also
preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Russell and JoAnn Mitchell; and two
brothers. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Shelby
Funeral Home, Covington, with Dr. Oscar Mathura officiating. Burial will be in
Pine Village Cemetery. – jlr
