Mrs. Lois Alleen Mitton, 83, formerly of Waynetown passed away at 12:45 p.m. Saturday Nov 16, 2013 at Digby House Assisted Living in Lafayette.  Lois was born Dec 7, 1929 in Fountain County, the daughter of Joseph Sylvester and Blanche Boord Newman. She graduated from Veedersburg HS which is where she met her husband, Billy V. Mitton.  Lois and Billy were married Aug 20, 1948 and moved to Waynetown where they raised their three child and were active in the community including the Waynetown Christian Church; and volunteer fire department.  They cow-owned and operated the Mitton Citco Station.  Lois dedicated her life to being a helpmate to Billy and being a wonderful mother.  Lois is survived by daughter Deanna Lynne Ziegler of Indianapolis; brother Joseph Allen Newman of Danville, Ill; sister Barbara Ellen Ludlow of Covington'; grandson Donald "Justin"  Ziegler of Hillsboro and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Billy Mitton on May 14, 2009 and sons Phillip Dean Mitton in 1997 and Joseph Warren Mitton in 2011.  Funeral services for Lois Mitton will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday Nov 20 at the Waynetown Christian Church Family Life Center with the Rev. Chris Lawler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery The family will receive visitors at the church from 10 until the services on Wed. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Lois' memory to the "Town of Waynetown - Swimming Pool Fund" and can be mailed to POB 215 Waynetown, IN 47990.  Donation envelopes also will be available at the church, Shoemaker Funeral Home of Waynetown is assisting the family in these services. - kbz
