MODRELL, Julia

Mrs. Julia A. Modrell died at her home, 1215 Lafayette Street Sunday afternoon at 6 o’clock. The cause of her death was believed by the doctor to be cancer of the liver. The deceased leaves to survive her a husband, JH Modrell; one son, John Smith of Arkansas City and two daughters of this city, Mrs. WW Gibbons, 1545 Lafayette Street and Mrs. Lucinda Scott, North Street, Francis Street.  Besides the immediate relation, Mrs. Modrell leaves seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  Mrs. Modrell was born in Fountain County, Indiana in 1828 where she lived until eight years ago when she moved to this city. The funeral services will be held this morning at 10 o’clock at the Methodist Church on Seneca Street. Interment will be made in the Highland cemetery. - kbz
