James MOFFETT died at his home 3 miles SE of Steam Corner Friday morning at 7:30 of pralysis. He had been in poor health for sevearl years but has been reported improving until recently. Mr. Moffett was a well known and popular citizens of Mill Creek Township and was instrumental in starting the Bank of Kingman, being its president at the time of his death. He also served two terms as treasurer of Fountain County and was one of the most popular officials our county ever had. Mr. Moffett leaves a devoted wife, one daughter and four sons to mourn his deparure. The funeral will be held Sunday morning 11 o'clock at Scott's Praire Church and interement will take place at Scott's Prarie cemetery.

Word was received here Saturday announcing the death of Mr. James G. Moffett at his home near Wallace. Mr. Moffett is a brother of the late Dr. Thomas Moffett, and at the time of the death of the latter he was unable to attend the funeral on account of his illness which resulted in his death Friday. The funeral occurred Sunday at Veedersburg and was conducted by the Masonic Lodge of Wallace.
