MOFFETT, Opal Ratcliff - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Veedersburg -- Mrs. Opal R. Moffett, 79 Veedersburg died 5:30 pm Thursday at the Ben Hur Nursing Home, Crawfordsville where she had been a patient since Feb 3. Mrs. Moffett was born in Veedersburg September 26, 1889, the daughter of John L & Ida Moore Ratcliff. She attended Veedersburg school, graduated in 1909 after which she attended the Conservatory of Music at Oberline. Her marriage to Robert E. Moffett was Feb 28, 1914. He preceded her in death. She was aamember of Scotts Prairie Christ Church near Veedersburg and Order of Eastern Star, Rockville. Survivors are two sons, J. Steven Moffet, Rt 1, Kingman and C. Richard Moffett, KansasaCity, Mo; five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and an infant brother. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Parham Funeral Home with Rev.Stanley Hicks, Jamestown, officiating. Burial in Rockfield Cemetery.
