Waynetown March `10 - Aaron J. Monroe well-known Waynetown resident passed away at his home here this morning after a week's iillness. Death occurred at 7 o'clock and was caused by a complication of diseases. Mr. Monroe was 79 yeers old and was born Oct 7, 1854 in Ohio, the son of James and Mary Monroe. On Jan 7, 1883 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Rhoda Quick Lewish who passed away 7 years ago.  Mr. Monroe when a small boy, went with his family from Ohio to Tolona, Ill several years later he came to this community and moved to a farm near Waynetown. After living on the farm for a short time he went to Danville, Ill where he resided until 1896 when he returned to the farm. He established his residence in Waynetown eleven years ago.  He was member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and masonic Lodge. Those surviving him are: a stepdaughter, Mrs. WS Merrell, 11 step grandchildren; two grandchildren, Bonnie and Ernice Monroe, twins; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Monroe, a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Buoy ofr Sadorus, Ill; and a brother, alo residing in Illinois. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Waynetown Baptist Church with Rev. IC Overman officiating. Burial will be made in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
