ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Carra Lea Bennett Montgomery, 76, of 1212 S. Brady, Attica, died at 9:25 p.m. Monday (Nov. 25, 1968) in the Small Rest Home in Waynetown where she had been a patient since Nov. 20. She had been in ill health one year and seriously ill for two months. Mrs. Montgomery was born July 6, 1892, in Middletown, Ohio, a daughter of Charles and Sarah Young Bennett. She was married Jan. 6, 1919, in Ridgefarm, Ill., to E. J. Montgomery who preceded her in death July 7, 1962. She had lived in the Danville, Ill., area for several years, later moving to Ambia where she and her husband operated a restaurant. They moved to Attica in 1930 where they operated a credit bureau for many years. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are four sons, Charles at home, Max in the Air Force at Concise, N.M., Marvin of Tustin, Calif., and Gene of Tinley Park, Ill., and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul (Elizabeth) Fletcher of Attica. Also, two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Billingsley of Attica and Mrs. Margaret Snyder of Neosha, Mo.; a brother, Thomas Bennett of Milwaukee, Wis.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by a sister and a stepson. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the DeSutter Funeral Home. The Rev. Everett White will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Attica. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday.   --typed by Walt W

ATTICA – Funeral services for Mrs. Carra Lea Bennett Montgomery, age 76, of Attica, who died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in the Small Rest Home in Waynetown, were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the DeSutter Funeral Home here. The Rev. Everett White officiated and burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.
