Funeral services for Homer Morgan were held at the Presbyterian Church at Marshal Thurs. Aft., Rev. Hugo, the former pastor of the Church, officiated at the services. Music was furnished by members of the choir when a duet "In the Garden" was sung and two numbers by a mixed quartet. Homer, the son of Joseph and Amanda Morgan, was born in Fountain County, Feb. 20, 1880 and passed away at his home May 1, 1928, at the age of 48 years. When he was 12 years of age, he, with his parents, moved to Crawfordsville, where he attended school and grew to young manhood. They later moved to Parke County, near Byron, where he spent the remainder of his life. In 1904, he was marr. to Miss Blanche Banta and to this union were born two children, a son, Kenneth and a daughter, Mary Helen. He is survived by his wife, children, mother, Mrs. Amanda Morgan; three brothers, Courtney of near Byron, Cecil of Crawfordsville and Stanley of this place; one sister, Mrs. Carl Smith who lives with the mother on the farm and many other relatives and friends. he was a member of the Bethany Presby. Church at Marshall and was known for his Christian character, his genial disposition and his readiness to do kindnesses for his friends. He was a dutiful son, a devoted husband and father and a loving brother.
