Hattie Cordell Morris, age 62, of Brevard, N.C., mother of Clinton C. Morris of 909 Orchard Drive, Covington, died early Wednesday morning, June 17, at her home on Gillespie Circle, Brevard, after an extended illness. Mrs. Morris, a native of Murphy, N.C., had resided in Transylvania County for 45 years. She was the widow of Carlos Hoke Morris, who died in 1961. Surviving, in addition to the son in Covington, are: four other sons; one daughter; one sister; two brothers; and 11 grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Morris and family left Covington for Brevard last Wednesday. They attended the funeral and are remaining …….. – jlr
