HILLSBORO -- Charles L. Mortimore, 80, lifelong resident of this county, died at 5:10 a.m. Friday as he was being admitted to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He became ill Thursday. Born Sept. 2, 1884, at Mellott, he was the son of William and Elbsa Rice Mortimore. He was married to Tessie Hybarger in 1905. He was married a second time on March 12, 1936, to Rose Wilson, who died in March, 1964. Mortimore attended school in Fountain County and was a farmer all of his life. He belonged to the Hillsboro Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Floyd Mortimore of Mellott; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Anno of Attica and Mrs. Ruth Crowder of Mellott; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mabel Hegg of Covington and Mrs. Ruth Hegg of Danville, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Della Brimberry of Veedersburg; a brother, Cecil Mortimore of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren. He had been making his home with a step-granddaughter, Mrs. Jack Walker of Hillsboro. Funeral services are announced for 10 a.m. Monday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Ross Kirk of Hillsboro will be the minister, and burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.   --typed by Walt W
