Floyd V. "Beanie" Mortimore, 70, Mellott, died T 2:45 P. M. Thursday, July 17 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill. He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Mellott, the son of Charles and Tessie Hybarger Mortimore. He married Josephine Pattengale on June 26, 1937 at Hillsboro. She survives. He was a 1933 graduate of Mellott High School. He served with Civilian Conservation Corp. in Wallace, Idaho, from 1935-1937. He was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ and the Tri-County Firemen. He was a former chief of the volunteer fire department and worked for a number of years with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. He worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company, Attica, for 43 years, retiring in 1980 as chief inspector. Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Jerry L., Mellott, and Ronald G., Cody, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Anno, Lafayette, and Mrs. Ruth Button, Mellott, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Monday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with the Rev. William Chapman officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
