Funeral services for Mrs. Iva T. Moudy, age 71, 512 Sixth St., who died at 7:15 p. m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Lakeview Memorial Hospital, Danville, Ill., were held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the Benson Chapel Methodist Church, west of Covington. She had been a patient in the hospital since Sept. 4 following a three-months' illness. Mrs. Moudy was born Jan. 7, 1891 in Highland Township, Vermillion County, Ind., the daughter of Thomas and Christina J. Stutler Gouty. She was married April 27, 1910 to Ernest A. Moudy, who preceded her in death March 15, 1956. She was a member of the Benson Chapel Methodist Church, its WSCS, and the Mound Home Demonstration Club. She was a life resident of the Foster and Covington communities. Mrs. Moudy is survived by: two sons, Robert T. and Ernest A., Jr., both of Covington Rt. 2; three daughters, Mrs. Leland (Dorothy) Hogan of Sidell Rt. 1, Mrs. Oliver (Roberta) Moorhous and Mrs. T. W. (Vera Louise) Wilson, both of Covington Rt. 2; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Moudy of Perrysville; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, four brothers and one grandchild. The body was taken to the church, from the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here, one hour before service. The Rev. Bill Moon, pastor, officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Martin sang and they were accompanied by Mrs. John (Naomi) Dewlen at the organ. Pallbearers were: Morris Martin, Lowell Holycross, Jim Clem, George Rentz, Herbert Edwards, and Archie Reynolds. Their wives, Gladys Martin, Maxine Holycross, Molly Clem, Marie Rentz, Vera Edwards and Mary Reynolds, served as flower bearers. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery here.   --typed by Walt W
