MULLINNIX, William F.

Attica, Ind Oct 23 – William F. Mullinix, 75, superintendent of the Attica Schools 27 years and a member of the faculty 47 years died late Thursday as he read a book in the library at his home. He had been in retirement since May 1937.  Mr. Mullinnix, a native of Spencer came here in 1910 to take charge of the Attica school mathematics and commercial departments. In 1894, under the superintendency of WA Mills he was appointed principal and 16 years later was elected superintendent, serving continuously until his retirement. Mr. Mullinnix received a life membership in the Indiana City and Town Superintendents Association in 1938 as a reward for distinguished service.  Surviving are the widow, two sons, Capt. Henry M. Mullinnix and Captain Allen P. Mullinnix, both graduates of the US Naval Academy and both in the service; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce Dolch, Indianapolis and Miss Kathryn Mullinnix, Columbus, Ohio and a sister, Miss Nelle Mullinnix Indianapolis of the state board of accounts.
