MULVEY, Robert R.

Robert R. Mulvey, 87, a retired Purdue Associate Professor died at 6:55 pm. Thursday in Westminster Healthcare Center where he had been a patient two  days.  He lived at 2741 N. Salisbury St, WL. He was born in Davis Township, Fountain County and was a life resident of this area.  He graduated from Montmorenci HS in 1914 and Purdue University in 1919.  Mr. Mulvey was an agronomist with PU from 1919-1963, working primarily at the research farms.  He was a member and elder of Central Presbyterian Church and formerly was a member and Sunday School Superintendent at Hope Chapel Presbyterian Church. During WWI, he served as a first Lt. with field artillery. He was a member of Tippecanoe County Historical Association, American Society of Agronomists, Agronomist Research and Crop Improvement and Alpha Zeta Honorary Fraternity.  He was married in 1919 in Enterprise Miss to Helen R. Coit. She died March 8, 1982.  Surviving are a son, Robert C. Mulvey of Springield, Ill and one brother, Schuyler Mulvey of Lafayette.
