ATTICA — Betty June (Karlson) Murray, 55, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Dixon Springs, Tenn., died at 1:20 p.m. in Smith County Memorial Hospital, Carthage, Tenn., following a month long illness. She was born in Williamsport May 25, 1951, the daughter of Arvel "Swede” Franklin and Betty Young Karlson. She married Walter Thomas Murray in Lufkin, Texas on June 12, 1981, he survives.. She was raised in Attica, where she attended Attica High School. She had lived in Dixon Springs for the past 25 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking and reading Survivors, besides the husband, include: two sons, Tommy and Andrew Murray, both of Dixon Springs, Tenn.; six sisters, Linda (Roger) Bennett, Janice (Larry) Hamblin, Ruth (Marvin) Furr, Nancy Karlson, all of Attica, Roxie Tornquist, Goodland, and Beverly Karlson, Boswell; and a brother, Jerry Karlson, Pine Village. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Bernice Karlson, Mary Godby and Jean Million. A gravesite service will be held at noon Thursday in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends will be received from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica. – jlr
