Last rites were held today in the First Methodist Church for David Murray, Sr. prominent retired merchant of Clinton, who died at his residence, 12 North Fourth Street at 2:10 a.m. Saturday after an illness of a few months.Mr.Murray had been prominent as a dealer in grain and farm implements in the early part of the century and had owned one of the first automobile stores in this community. He had also been in business in the Geneva community. A prominent member of the First Methodist Church Mr. Murray had taken an active part in the church affairs for many years. He was also a member of the Amant Lodge, IOOF of Clinton. He was born in Covington May 26, 1865 but had spent the major part of his life in Clinton.  Survivors include the widow, Margaret; and one son, David Murray of Danville, Ill.  The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home and remained there until the services this afternoon at 3:30 in the church, Rev. CC Jordan officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. - kbz
