Earl G. Mycroft, 72, Covington died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday Nov 9 at Covington Manor Nursing Center. He had been a patient several months. He was born March 26, 1914 in Wabash Twp, the son of James H. and Hulda Nelson Mycroft. He married Lois Grubb March 22, 1934. She survives. He was a life resident of Covington area. He had worked in the family coal mine near Stringtown in his early life, was later employed at Harrison Steel, Attica and employed with Crain Plumbing & Heath 25 years retiring from there in 1972 due to ill health. He enjoyed riding his 3-wheel bike around town and visiting with friends and gardening. SUrviving besides his wife are 4 daughters, Mrs. Phil (Loretta) Hughes, Covington; Mrs. Arnold (Bonnie) Messick, Veedersburg; Mrs. Scott (Nancy) Wallace, Covington and Mrs. Arnold (Joyce) Keeling, Veedersburg; 5 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Gene (Wilma) Hay, Covington and Mrs. Vurns (Norma) Sammons, Witchita Falls, Tx; 5 brothers, Herschel and Vanis, Rt 1, Covington; Luther, Covington; Elroy, West Lebanon and rudolph, Yucca Valley, Calif and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and one sister. Friends may call at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington from 4-9 p.m. today (Tuesday) funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the rev. Jack Louder and Paul Kent officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
