ATTICA — Robert Gene Mycroft, 69, Lot 8 in Lambert Trailer Court, Attica, died at 9:48 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He had been in failing health for the past several years. He was born April 15, 1931 in Stringtown, the son of Willard and Marguerite Stoup Mycroft. He married Lula Weaver Feb. 8, 1968 in Covington. She preceded in death Dec. 9, 1994. He was raised and education in Stringtown. He formerly worked for 16 years at Harrison Steel Castings Co. in Attica. He later worked for 29 years at Myers Steel Fabricating Company in Attica, when he retired. He had attended the Church of God in Stringtown. He loved to fish and hunt mushrooms. Survivors include: his mother, Marguerite Mycroft, Covington; a son, Rickey Gene Mycroft, Attica; five daughters, Mary Jane Calvert, Cindy Lou Richardson and Robin Linn Crowder, all of Attica, Connie Ann King, Mishawaka and Karen Sue Wilson, Covington; three sisters, Esther Fankhouser, Hot Springs, Ark., Virginia Humphries, Gainsville, Ga. and Wanda Newman, Cayuga; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ronnie Allen Shoaf, Jr. and a son, Bobby. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Harvey Lange officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time on Thursday.
