HILLSBORO — Herman D. Myers, 91, rural Hillsboro, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. He was born July 17, 1915 in Wallace, the son of O. Deward and Ada Catherine (Lowe) Myers. He married Doris M. Gooding Dec. 24, 1936. She preceded in death Nov. 6, 1998. He was a 1935 graduate of Waynetown High School. He was a farmer, having farmed for many years south of Hillsboro. He was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church. He was instrumental in establishing the Fountain County 4-H Building and fairgrounds in Veedersburg. Survivors include: two sons, Larry W. (Faye) Myers, Hillsdale and Richard (Donna) Myers, Hillsboro; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, with the Rev. Brian Nelson officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
