The Veedersburg (Indiana) newspapers contain reports of information concerning the death of Robert H. Parham, whose wife, Margaret, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Walker of Almond. Brief announcement of Mr. Parham's death was made in the Almond correspondence of last Friday. Following are extracts from the Veedersburg News and the Danville (Ill.) Commercial-News: "Robert H. Parham, following a brief illness, passed way at the General Hospital, Los Angeles, California, on October 28, 1931. he was the son of J. Fred and Minnie Parham, of Veedersburg, Indiana. "Bob was an alumnus of Veedersburg High school. He later attended Wabash College at Crawfordsville, Indiana, and the University of Illinois at Urbana. "After leaving school his first position was with The Daily Call and then with the F. H. Hall Publishers representatives of San Francisco, California, where he was employed in the advertising department of both publishing houses. "It was at San Francisco that he met and married Margaret Walker, of Almond, Wisconsin, who at that time, together with her parents, was residing temporarily at San Francisco. To this union one child was born, Natalie Parham, now past three years of age. "After three years residence in San Francisco, Bob was called to New York city, where he became business manager of The American Press, which position he held for one year. It was while he was thus engaged that he suffered an attack of scarlet fever and was compelled to give up his position. After a long period of convalescence he regained his health and accepted a position with the Metropolitan Life Insurance company, as field man of the department of group insurance, with headquarters at Chicago. "During the six months prior to his death Bob was located at Los Angeles, California, engaged in organization and promotional work, when suddenly and in the very prime of his earthly career, he laid aside the working tools of life and passed quietly into that dreamless sleep out of which there is no physical awakening. "He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Fred Parham, of Veedersburg, his wife, Margaret, and his daughter, Natalie Parham, of Almond, Wisconsin, and his sister, Marjorie Parham, a student in Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana, and an aunt, Miss Elizabeth Harris, of Danville, Illinois, and many other relatives. "The untimely death of Robert H. Parham is greatly to be deplored. Had he been allowed to live to reach the acme of his activities, with his pleasing personality, suitable proficiency, with body and mind unimpaired, he no doubt would have risen high in his profession as a promoter and pressman, and would have contributed much toward the happiness of his loved ones and to the general good of society. "Bob was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Veedersburg, and also belonged to the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was admired and loved by all who knew him. His early exit from this life has caused great grief not only in his immediate family, but also among his many friends. "Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, November 4, in his parents' home with Rev. O. W. McGauchey and Rev. W. B. Collier officiating. The remains arrived at 12 o'clock Monday night from Los Angeles. Interment was made in the Veedersburg cemetery."
