Mrs. Edith Parker, 76, of 26 N. California, a retired school teacher, died at her home at 5 a.m. yesterday (Oct. 2, 1966). Born March 7, 1890, in Covington, Ind., she was a daughter of Sidney and Layton Drollinger. She was married March 7, 1910, to Perry Parker who survives. Also surviving, are a daughter, Mrs. Evabelle Fisher of Dunellen, N. J.; a sister, Mrs. Loretta Dugas of Danville, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by two brothers. She was a 1909 graduate of Covington High and attended Indiana State Teachers College at Terre Haute. She had taught grade school in Vermilion County for 30 years. She taught and was principal of South Mt. Pleasant School for 19 years and was later principal of the Union Corner School District 140 until retiring in 1957. She was active in the First Church of Christ and was superintendent of the Young Peoples Department of the City Council of Churches, 1926-27. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Central Christian Church and the Oaklawn Rebekah Lodge 637. She was a member of Iris Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. She was past president of Amity 26, Grand International Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and was a member of the Pythian Sisters 121 and the Women's Relief Corps of Covington. She was past president and the last living charter member of Lodge 25, Ladies Society of Brotherhood of Firemen and Engineers. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Ditamore officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends will be received at the funeral home 7-9 tonight and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.   --typed by Walt W
