Mrs. Lucile Parnell, 68, who had been a resident of Hillsboro for more than 30 years, died at 10:10 p.m., Sunday, June 24 at the Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had entered as a medical patient on June 20. Mrs. Parnell had been in failing health for several months. Born Oct. 10 1893 at Newtown, she was the daughter of Dr. W. P. and May Beatty Robbins. She was married on Oct. 24, 1914 to Leland Parnell, of Newtown, who survives. A graduate of Newtown High School and the Kansas City Conservatory of Music, Mrs. Parnell was a piano teacher; a member of Federated Music Clubs and of Who's Who in Church Music, and of the Hillsboro Harmony Club. She assisted in organizing the Fountain County Home Demonstration Club Chorus and served as its president for ten years. She was also a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church, the WSCS and the Come Join Us Bible Class. Surviving besides the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Doris McMahan, of Crawfordsville; a brother, Dr. K. S. Robbins, of Edson, Alberta, Canada, and three granddaughters, Ann, Lynn and Beth McMahan. Funeral services were held at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Robert Sievers of Zionsville and Rev. Charles Sites of Newtown officiated. Organ music was by Mrs. Nellie Snyder of Waynetown. The pall bearers, who also assisted with the flowers, were Samuel Kerr, Fletcher Kerr, and Merle Marlatt of Newtown, Sherman Shade, Dr. George W. Crane and Ben Mitman of Hillsboro. Interment was in the Newtown Cemetery.   -- typed by Walt W
