FOSTER, Ind. (CNS) — Russell Patton, 80, of the Foster community on Covington Route 2, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (July 28, 1976) at his home. He had been ill five years. Born Dec. 26, 1895, in Warren County, he was the son of Isaac and Flora Fields Patton. On April 29, 1923, he married Grace Smith, who survives. A resident of Warren County all of his life, he had resided in the Foster area 53 years. He was retired from farming and was an Army veteran of World War I. He attended the Benson Chapel United Methodist Church west of Covington and was a member of the Warren County Farm Bureau and Fulton-Banta American Legion Post 291 of Covington. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. S. B. (Elosie) McCracken of Covington Route 2 and Mrs. Ivan (Anna Lee) Thomas of South Bend; a son, Russell Eugene of Crown Point; a brother, Louis of Veedersburg; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a step-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, with the Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.   --typed by Walt W
