VEEDERSBURG, Inc. (CNS) - James Arthur Payton, 79, of Veedersburg, died at noon Saturday (Oct. 31, 1970) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he was a patient three weeks. Born Sept. 8, 1891, in Veedersburg, he was the son of Benjamin and Rebecca McDade Payton. He never married. Survivors include a brother, Glen of Veedersburg, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Isley of Ulysses, Kan. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Payton was a veteran of World War I, serving with the U. S. Army in France and Germany. He was a member of the Prairie Creek Baptist Church in Veedersburg. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Monday at the Parham Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Hybarger in charge. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery. Visitors will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.   --- typed by CA.
