ATTICA - Mrs. Bertha Ellen Pearson, age 72, of Attica Rt. 2, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, in Home Hospital in Lafayette, where she had been a patient since early May. She had been in ill health several years. Mrs. Pearson was born in Warren County June 30, 1893, the daughter of Mordecai and Mary May Rayl. She married Chelsie Pearson, March 1, 1916 at Elston. She was a member of the Bethel Church, Bethel Community Circle, and Ladies Aid. She had lived on Attica Rt. 2 the last 49 years. Surviving, in addition to the husband, are: three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Virginia) Snider of Attica Rt. 2, Mrs. Marvin (Wilma) Carlson of Hillsboro and Mrs. Hercel (Mary Elizabeth) Stonebraker of Crawfordsville Rt. 4; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Laughlin of Talbott, Mrs. Bishop Hinton of Frankfort Rt. 5, and Mrs. Grant Gibson of West Point, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home here. The Rev. Rob James officiated and burial was in Bethel Cemetery, east of Attica --- typed by CA.
