COVINGTON — Michael D. Pearson, 50, Covington, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville, Ill. He was born Jan. 13, 1956 in Williamsport, the son of Merle and Mary (Kinner) Pearson. He married Tina Jo Alward Sept. 29, 1979 in Covington. She survives. He served in the U. S. Air Force and worked as a supervisor for E. Z. Gregory Distribution. He was formerly on the Covington Volunteer Fire Department. He coached the Covington Little League and Youth Soccer League. He enjoyed watching and going to NASCAR races with friends and enjoyed I.U. basketball, the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears games. Survivors, besides the wife, include: his mother of Veedersburg; a sister, Deb (Joe) Gulley, Veedersburg; a brother, Mark E. Pearson, Plainfield; three special nephews, Eric, Adam and Jason Gulley; he enjoyed spending time with his great nephew, Kaleb; seven great nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with Pastor Tim Auter officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery. Preferred memorials to the Fountain County Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. – jlr
