Newtown, April 22 -- Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for James PETE at the local Methodist Church, Rev. AW Smith of Wingate had charge. Music was furnished by the Shultz quartette. Pall bearers were: Edgar Shultz, TJ Brown; Thomas Shultz; Will Nuss and Oram Palin. Song used were Shall We Gather at the River and Ring Those Golden Bells. Burial took place in the Old Baptist Cemetery west of Newtown   --- transcribed by kbz
