Covington Oct 14 - Oscar Phebus, 35 years old former resident of this county died today at Clayton, Indiana where he moved four years ago. He was engaged in mercantile business at Clayton where he was also a
prominent citizen. Mr. Phebus was born in Wabash Township and was at one time recorder of Fountain County being elected on the Democratic ticket. He was defeated by Finish Drake, Republican for re-election by the small margin of 3 votes in the landslide four years ago. He was a former well known school teacher.
