ATTICA — Rev. Edna F. Phelps, 90, Attica, died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 in Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica. She was born Jan. 3, 1916 in Bethelridge, Ky., the daughter of Cecil and Aquilla Mae Wesley Phelps. She moved to Warren County in 1918 and resided for many years in the Hedrick area. She attended school in Williamsport. At the age of 16, she founded the Hedrick Assembly of God Church. She was pastor at the Hedrick Church for many years. She pastored in Ohio, Phoenix City, Al., Huntington, Portland, Merom and Attica churches. She was an active member of the Attica Assembly of God Church and served as treasurer for 25 years for the Women's Missionary Council. Survivors include: a special niece, Penny Phelps, with whom she resided; a sister, Gay (Thomas) Swank, Lafayette; and also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, her twin, Raymond Phelps, and Herbert Phelps and James Phelps. Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, from 3-6 p.m. Sunday.
