PHILLIPS, Chester

Chester F. Phillips, 75, a retired hod carrier, died at 2:10 a.m. today in St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital Sunday after being in ill health one month. Mr. Phillips resided at 2929 Ind 43-S.  Born and reared near Attica, he moved to Lafayette in 1956. He was employed as a hod carrier by Joe Siegfried Construction Co. before retiring. In 1924 he married at Attica to Margaret Simmerman, who survives. He was a member of the Laborers Hod Carrier Union.  Surviving with the widow are six daughters: Mrs. Richard (Lillian) Sexton of Attica; Mrs. Russell (Dorothy) McIntosh; Mrs. Bill (Marcella) Solomon; Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Adams; Mrs. Caroline Neal and Mrs. Dave (Sandy) Derment, all of Lafayette; and one son, Robert Phillips of Lafayette. - kbz
