PHILLIPS, Mary Purple

Covington- Mrs. Mary Jane Phillips, 95, died Friday night at the Small Rest Home in Waynetown where she had been a resident since 1961. She was born Jan 1, 1869, and lived most of her life in the State Line community. Her father was Edwin Purple and her mother Mary Ann Seward Purple. She attended State Line Methodist Church. Mrs. Pillips was preceded in death by her husband, who died Oct 14, 1925; and by three children, four brothers and a sister. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Minnine Ellingwood of Waynetown Rt 1, a son, Joseph Phillips of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Anna M. Lang of Iowa; a step daughter, Mrs. Hannah Snyder of West Chicago; nine grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walnut Corner Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
