VEEDERSBURG—Mrs. Maude Phillips, 74, died about noon Monday in an ambulance enroute to the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. She had been in failing health the past year and seriously ill one month. A member of the Methodist Church, she had lived in Veedersburg the past 53 years. Born May 22, 1884, near Wallace, she was the daughter of Winfield S. and Margaret Airsmith Brewer. She married John T. Phillips May 20, 1905. Mr. Phillips died Nov. 3, 1943. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Bernice Rush, Mrs. Leota Meeker and Mrs. Folita Bilstad, all of Veedersburg, Mrs. Delilah Heidrick of Danville; Ill., Mrs. Dorothy Brimbury of Milford, Utah and Miss Virginia Phillips, at home; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Houser of Hillsboro; four brothers, Tillman and Lester Brewer, both of Veedersburg, Jesse Brewer of Buchanan, Mich., and Elmer of Alexandria; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the family residence in Veedersburg with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge. Rev. J. W. Knight of Perrysville will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg. Friends may call at the family residence.  --typed by Walt W
