Many years ago and under the pastorate of Rev. Parr he united with the Freedom Christian Church and continued a member to the end. He had been in declining health for 3 years but seriously ill for the past 3 weeks and while all was done for him that could be done yet it was without avail for in the morning hours of Wednesday, July 22, he passed away at Lakeview HOspital in Danville, Ill at the age of 66 lacing two days, leaving to mour, his wie, one son, Omar of San Francisco, one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Bever of Powell, Wyoming, one brother, Albert of Crawfordsville, Indiana, two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Lowe of Waynetown and Mrs. Mayette Day of Belilingham, Washington, 3 grandchildren, Mary Elain, James Phil and Bobby Gene Bever, other relatives and numerous friends. His entire life had been lived in the one community where he was known as a devoted husband, father, neighbor and highly honored citizen. He lived on a high place of usefulness to his community and in his passing the community in which he had lived so long has sustained a distinct loss. He has left a memory to those who have known him of sober, upright, honest and honorable citizenship. Yet in the course of human events it was incumbent for him to pay the price that all mankind has or will be obliged to pay. He has gone to his reward and may peace be unto his departed soul.
