Mrs. Ava Pearl Philpott of Hillsboro, age 88, died Tuesday morning, March 17, in Lafayette Care Nursing Home, where she had lived since 1971. She was born near Yeddo, November 21, 1892, the daughter of Elmer and Eleanor Furr Marshall. April 26, 1911, she married Glen Philpott, who died in 1976. She was a member of Centennial Church and a graduate of Kingman High School.

  Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ena Elmore of rural Waynetown and Mrs. Lois Melvin of Alamo; four sons, Donald of RR 2, Veedersburg, Carol of Fillmore, Max of Lafayette and Lloyd of Romney; three sisters, Mrs. A. E. Hesler of Bradenton, Florida, Mrs. Claude Clark of Veedersburg and Mrs. Vera Robson of Lafayette; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. James Daniel officiating. Burial was in Zachmire Cemetery near Kingman. – thanks to S
