Fred W. Philpott, formerly of near Kingman was killed in an auto accident near Brush, Colorado March 25 caused by failing eye sight. Mr. Philpott was born near Wallace August 15, 1888 where he grew to manhood and began farming. In 1915 he moved to Iowa. In March of 1918 he joined the US Armed forces and served overseas until May 1919 when he was discharged. He then moved to Kansas where he worked for the State Highway Department several years. At the time of his death he was retired. The funeral was at Cope Community Church with military rites at the graveside in Cope Cemetery. He is survived by one brother, Paul S. Philpott of near Kingman and a half sister, Grace Lamb of near Wayne, Nebraska and several nieces and nephews.
