Hillsboro, Ind -- Glen Philpott, 86, a former Hillsboro resident, died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 1976, at the Logansport Hospital. Prior to his hospitalization there, he had been a patient at the Turtle Creek Nursing Home in Lafayette since 1971. Born Feb 28 1890, in Fountain County, he was the son of Charles and Harriett Smith Philpott. On April 26 1911, he married Ava Pearl Marshall of Yeddo, who survives and resides at Turtle Creek. He had been a grain and stock farmer in Fountain County before moving to Hillsboro in 1958, when he retired. He was a member of the Centennial Community Church north of Kingman. Other survivors include four sons, Donald of Veedersburg Route 2,Carol of Fillmore, Max of Lafayette and Lloyd of Romney; two daughters, Mrs. Ena Elmore and Mrs. Louis Melvin both of Alamo; a brother Opha of New Ross; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, an infant daughter and two brothers. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Thomas funeral Home, with burial in Zackmire Cemetery southwest of Wallace. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.   -- kbz

He had lived at Lafayette since October 1975 and was a former farmer in Fountain County. He had lived in Hillsboro from 1958 until 1971. He was a member of the Centennial Community Church near Kingman. Born Feb. 28, 1890, he was a son of Charles and Harriett Smith Philpott of Fountain County. He was married to Ava Pearl Marshall on April 26, 1911.
