PICKARD, Hubert - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mr. and Mrs. George Sheppard, I.A. Gilkeson and Levi Pickard attended the funeral of Hubert Pickard near Wallace on Wed. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Isaiah Whisman at the residence of Jasper Cunningham with whom Hubert made him home. Interment in the Cunningham Cemetery. Hubert Pickard was the youngest son of Jefferson and Elizabeth Pickard, was born June 4, 1893. The father d. May 7, 1898 leaving the wife and 3 sons: Harry, Henry and Hubert. In Feb 1899, the mother died, leaving the three sons homeless. They were afterwards taken to the Orphans Home in Crawfordsville. When the two larger boys were old enough to make their own living they left the home. Hubert remaining until about five years ago, when he found a home with Mr. & Mrs. Jasper Cunningham. Henry is the only surviving member of the family: Harry the eldest having d. March 19, 1907. The families of Levi Pickard and IA Gilkeson wish to thank the family of Jasper Cunningham for their care and kindness during Hubert's illness.   --kbz
