PICKETT, Charlotte Craig

Charlotte Craig Pickett, daughter of William and Minor Craig, was born in Hamilton County, Ohio March 19, 1837.  She was first married to Samuel Pickett in Ohio and to this union were born two sons, William and John.  She moved with her family to west of Alamo in Fountain County.  In 1963 her husband died, and in 1864, she was married to her first husband's brother, John.  To this union was born one daughter. Her
second husband died in 1907, since which time she has been living with her daughter. She united with the Christian Church at Alamo 30 years ago and remained steadfast in the faith until the end.  She was a patient
sufferer for years and bore her afflictions with a Christian fortitude.  She was a good wife, a loving mother, a kind neighbor and a true friend.  She crossed the dark valley into the beyond at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Nelson Rush, Friday at 12:30, aged 74 years, 11 months and 26 days.  She leaves to mourn two sons, William and John Pickett, one daughter, Mrs. Nelson Rush. Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two
brothers, three sisters and a host of friends.  The funeral service was held at the house of her daughter, near Alamo, Sunday, March 17 at 3 o'clock, conducted by Bro. Alford of the Alamo Christian Church, after which she was laid to rest by the side of her husband, John Pickett, in the Alamo cemetery.
