Lucy Fishero Pickett, 84, died early Tuesday morning at Culver Hospital where she had been a patient 10 days. Mrs. Pickett, who lived at 118 E. Jefferson St. Crawfordsville, had been ill a year. She was a resident of Crawfordsville since 1912. Mrs. Pickett was born July 23, 1877, at Alamo, the daughter of Peter M. and Cora Ward Fishero, and was educated at Alamo schools. She was married to Albert V. Pickett Dec. 27, 1898, at Wallace, and the couple set up housekeeping at Marshall. Mr. Pickett, who was a brick contractor and a veteran of the Spanish-American War, died June 23, 1958. Mrs. Pickett was a member of the First Christian Church of Crawfordsville. She was a past president of the local chapter of Women of the GAR and a past president of the local Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by a daughter Mrs. James Robert Edwards, of The Hague, Netherlands; a son, Darrell W. Pickett, Ventura, Calif.; a granddaughter, Anita Marie Pickett, of Ventura, a niece and two nephews. Her husband and a granddaughter preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bright's Funeral Home. Rev. John Servies will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
