Waynetown  March 10 – Mrs. Joseph Pierce, 54, died this morning in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville of blood poisoning.  Several days ago she ran a splinter into a finger which became infected. She was taken to the hospital Saturday. Mrs. Pierce, whose maiden name was Mary King, was born at Steam Corner, Indiana and was married in August 1894 to Mr. Pierce. All her married life was spent here. Surviving are the husband; five children, Loye Pierce, Mrs. Harold Edwards and Mrs. John Walker, Crawfordsville; Mrs. John Webster of near Veedersburg and Miss Blanche Pierce, at home; 7 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Grossman, Zanesville, Ohio. The funeral will be held at the Christian Church here Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. GS Smith, Ladoga in charge; Interment in Masonic cemetery. - kbz
