ROSSVILLE (CNS) – William Henry Pierson, 89, of Greenwood Drive, died at 11:50 a.m. Monday (Feb. 18, 1974) at Meadow Heights Nursing Home in Williamsport, Ind. He resided there for a short time and been in failing health past several years. Born June 9, 1884, at Fountain County, Ind., he was the son of John and Cebe Clawson Pierson. He was married at Covington, Ind., on Nov. 30, 1907, to Hettie Ramsey, who died in 1963. Mr. Pierson attended schools in Eugene, Ind., a Brown Business College in Danville and was employed by John Deere Foundry in Hoopeston for several years, retiring in 1950. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Carmichael of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Esther Paulson of Rossville with whom he resided for past ten years; a brother, Francis of Crete; two sisters. Mrs. Iva Jernagan of Perrysville, Ind. and Mrs. Elsie Tincher of Coatesville, Ind.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chrisman Funeral Home with the Rev. William Don Ekstrom officiating. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. There will be no visitation.   -– jlr
