Arthur Ernest Ping, age 70, of Perrysville, died Saturday, Dec. 22, at 9:12 p. m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, where he enterer Dec. 13. He had been in ill health for two years and seriously ill the past two weeks. Born Nov. 21, 1892 in Brown County, he was a son of Thomas and Louisa Hedrick Ping. Mr. Ping was married to Clara Williams and later to Jennie Hibbs on Oct. 22, 1938. He lived in Danville for several years before moving to Delton and Harvey, Ill., where he resided for 17 years. Mr. Ping moved back to Perrysville in 1959, after retiring from the C&EI Railroad. He was a foreman in the car yards at Delton. Mr. Ping had 37 years of service as a railroader and worked for the Wabash Railroad five years before working for the C&EI. He was a member of Unity Lodge No. 344 F&AM of Perrysville and of the Scottish Rite at Chicago. Survivors include his wife; three children, Ernest of Perrysville, Mrs. Austin (Inez) Marshall and Mrs. James (Lorrena) Richardson of Perrysville Rt. 1; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leroy (Mildred) Edwards of Covington; a foster daughter, Sharon, at home; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sip; brothers, Lester of Bloomington, Ill., Ray of Lafayette, Oval of Decatur, Ill., Edgar of Danville, Ralph of Covington Rt. 1, Delger of Perrysville; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Lewis of Georgetown, Ill. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. today, Dec. 26, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Earl Owens officiated. Burial was in the Hicks Cemetery. Masonic services were held at the graveside. Pallbearers were: Herman Monroe, Herman Holder, Arnold Prather, George Rentz, Cort Jones and Dewey Prather.   --typed by Walt W
