Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Ellen Ping, age 89, of Perrysville, who died at 11 p. m. Wednesday, June 13, in the Vermillion County Nursing Home at Newport, were held Saturday, June 16, at 2 p. m. at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Mrs. Ping was born Feb. 14, 1873, in Nashville, Ind., a daughter of Calvin and Thelda Helen Ogle Hedrick. She was married to Thomas W. Ping on Dec. 10, 1889. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1955. Mrs. Ping came to Warren County and lived near West Lebanon in 1907. She had resided in Perrysville the past 40 years. Mrs. Ping had been a patient at the nursing home for two years. She was a member of the Perrysville Evangelical United Brethren Church. Surviving are seven sons, Arthur E. of Perrysville, Lester of Bloomington, Ill., Raymond of Lafayette, Oval of Decatur, Ill., Edgar of Danville, Ill., Ralph of Covington Rt. 1, and Delgar of Perrysville; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Lewis of Georgetown, Ill.; a brother, William Hedrick of Columbus, Ind.; 29 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, and 14 brothers and sisters. The Rev. E. V. Wamsley officiated. Burial was in the Hicks Cemetery at Perrysville. Pallbearers were grandsons, Orville, Willard, Walter, Luther, Darrell, Laurel, Harold, Harry, Richard and Robert Ping.   --typed by Walt W
