Lafayette—Leon R. Plant, 49, a former Lafayette resident, died unexpectedly at 8:35 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 1989 in the emergency room at Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia, Tenn., apparently of a heart attack. He lived at Route 9, Columbia.

  He was born Sept. 20, 1939 in Fowler. He had lived in Tennessee for the past four years moving there from Phoenix, Ariz.
  He graduated from Otterbein High School and attended Vincennes University. He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1958-1962.

  He was employed in the maintenance department at Bel-Air Nursing Home in Columbia.

  Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ricky (Marie) Anderson, Danville, Ill.; Debbie Plant and Kimmie Plant, both of Vincennes, and Misty Plant, Lafayette; his father, Raymond, Lafayette; his mother, Mrs. Coyla McKee, Williamsport; two sisters, Mrs. Ricky (Tootsie) Tharp, Parsons, Tenn., and Mrs. Norma Doyle, West Lafayette; two brothers, Howard Plant, Lafayette, and Andy Brooks, West Lafayette, and three grandchildren.

  Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Hippensteel Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, with the Rev. Brett Mouron officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. – thanks to s

Leon R. “Funeral Notices” – Plant, Leon R – Friends may call at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 5-8 p.m. Monday. Service in Hippensteel Chapel 1 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Brett Mouron officiating. Interment Rest Haven Memorial Park.  Three grandchildren survive.
