Veedersburg - Floyd Homer "Pete" Pool, 72 of Rt 4, Veedersburg, died at 4:07 a.m. Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Danville, Ill.

He resided at Veedersburg for most of his life, living in Florida 1953-63.  He was self-employed and also worked for the Veedersburg Police Department. He served in the Navy during WWII.

His memberships include Charles Forest Post 288 American Legion and First Christian Church.  He formerly belonged to the Knights of Pythias and Moose Lodge at Attica.

Mr. Pool was born April 22, 19914 at Rileysburg to Paris and Minnie Hanna Pool.  He married Bernice Elizabeth Monroe on Sept 5, 1934. She preceded him in death in 1954.  Survivors include three sons: Larry of Veedersburg; Edwin of Anchorage, Alasaka and Michael of Naples, Fla; a brother, Harold Willard "Bill" of Mishawaka; two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Kell of Rt 1, Wingate and Mrs. Fred (Helen) Brier of Attica and 8 grandchildren.  3 brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday in Parham-SHelby Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. Daniel Immel officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with military graveside rites.
