ATTICA — Margaret Ann “Peggy” Poston, 75, 515 E. Pike St., Attica, died in the Home Hospital, Lafayette, on Friday, October 5, 2001, 8:08 p.m. following a brief illness. Miss Poston was born in Crawfordsville, on November 22, 1925. She was the daughter of W. Irvin and Martha Barnhill Poston. Peggy has lived most of her life in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1943. She attended Gulf Park College in Gulfport, Miss., Purdue University and received her B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Butler University. While at Purdue and Butler Universities, she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Miss Poston was a member of the Attica-Williamsport Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Elder of the church. Miss Poston taught in Indianapolis Day Nursery; was in charge of youth club house at River Oaks Country Club, Houston, Tx.; reservations clerk for TWA; travel planner for AAA. Peggy was a member of the Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority for 30 years and was presently an active member of the Tri Kappa Associates in Attica. She was a member of the AAUW, Indiana Historical Society, Fountain County Historical Society, Mental Health Association and was presently serving as president of the Woman's Literary Club. Surviving are her brother, Irvin E. Poston, Birmingham, Mich.; two nieces, Janet Ledbetter, Troy, Mich.; Patricia Tribby, Gobles, Mich.; two nephews, Steven Poston, of Rutland, Mass.; David Poston, Los Alamos, N.M.; eleven great nieces and great nephews, ranging in ages one month to twenty-two years old. Services were held at the Attica-Williamsport Presbyterian Church, on October 9, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John DeSanto officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica-Williamsport Presbyterian Church. – jlr
