HOOPESTON (CNS) --- LaVerne Powley, 62, of 213 W. Chestnut, Hoopeston, died at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday (April 18, 1973) at the Hoopeston Community Memorial hospital. Born Oct. 7, 1910, at Hoopeston, he was the son of Dale and Nellie Livingston Powley. He was married May 3, 1957, at Hoopeston to Irene Hickman Collier, who survives. Other survivors include a stepson, Michael Collier of Hoopeston, and four grandchildren. He was employed at Coast to Coast Hardware in Hoopeston for seven years prior to his retirement a year ago. He served in the Air Force from 1943-45 and was a member of the Christian Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ben Anderson officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery with military services. The family has requested, that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Heart Fund in Mr. Powley's name. --typed by Walt W
