Harvey Leo Preble, 75, of 1101 W. Lincoln Ave., Goshen, Ind., died Tuesday (April 2, 1974) at the Goshen Nursing Home. He had been ill several years. Born July 31, 1899, in Judyville, he was the son of Albert and Gertrude Whitten Preble. He had been a resident of Goshen for about two years and of Ft. Mead, Fla., for about 15 years. He also had resided at Covington, Tab and Calument City. He was married Oct. 28, 1920, at Williamsport to Bertha Brant, who died June 23, 1973. He formerly worked as a coremaker at Harrison Steel Castings Co., and later owned a shoe store at Cedar Lake. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion of Cedar Lake. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Preble of Elkhart; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Marjorie) Galster of Hammond; a sister, Mrs. Orville (Ileta) Kight of Covington; a half sister, Mrs. Merle Helmerick of Boswell; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at the Dale Maus Funeral Home Friday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Forrest Strickler officiating. Burial will be in the West Lebanon Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
